Though the most recent Pontiac Senior Comets game was cancelled on Sunday, the local team has seen plenty of action on the ice over the holiday season in the Outaouais Senior A Hockey League (OSAHL).
Starting off on Dec. 22, the Comets hosted the Vaudreuil Titans for a close match that was decided by an overtime goal. After fighting for a comeback after a disappointing first period, the rest of the game proved tense and exciting for fans of the home team.

Both teams kept their offensives at the forefront this game, as the Comets fought to maintain control of the ice. However, one more from Comet Vincent Proulx would see the third end in a tie, before his teammate, Stephane Paré fired in the game-winning goal. The final scoreboard read 9-8 for the Comets
That same magic couldn’t be found on Dec. 29, when the Comets visited the Benson Centre in Cornwall, Ont., to take on the Cornwall Prowlers. The Prowlers outpaced the Comets, scoring nearly twice for every goal the local boys made. This game ended 9-5 for the Cornwall team, as they sent the Comets packing.
Finally, the Comets met the Mont Laurier Montagnards at the Centre Sportifs Jacques Lesage on Jan. 5. After being down four in the first period, the Comets had to push back to save some face. They managed to secure a few goals in the last half of the game, but the Montagnards proved relentless.
The Comets were defeated once again, as the scoreboard read 6-4 for the Mont Laurier team.
The Comets currently sit in fourth place on the OSAHL leaderboards, tied for points with the Cornwall Prowlers. Up next, the Comets will host the Montagnards in Fort Coulonge on Jan. 19.
