The Midget A’s played a home game on the weekend playing host to the Aylmer Extremes. From the drop of the puck our players seemed to be ready to play. They got control of the puck off the draw and made their way into the visitors’ end with lots of shots on the opponents.
However, without enough traffic in front of the net they couldn’t seem to bury any. It wasn’t until the final minute mark in the first period when Willis Egan, with help from Nick Curley, banked in a well-earned goal to tie the game up.
After one period of play, the boys seemed to be gaining on the puck battles with more shots on net. Two minutes into the second period, Tyler Stanton was able to put one past the net minders glove with assists coming from Evan Atkinson and Harry Lukacs-Hitz. The game seemed pretty exciting from the stands as parents cheered on their home town team.

The Lions were ahead 2-1 at the end of the second. Third period action started early with Ryan Lang deflecting in a rocket shot from the point coming from Connor Gilpin.
The game was entertaining with lots of passing and shots being fired. At the five minute mark, Captain Evan Atkinson netted the final goal of the game with help from Thomas Beck, sealing a 4-1 victory for the Lions. Both teams played a fast-paced, exciting game. The players want to thank their fans for coming out.
The Lions Midget A team have a busy two game weekend coming up. If you are interested in watching some fast-paced hockey with lots of passing, come out and cheer on this young team. The team currently sits at the top of their division with a 4-0-0 record.
The next home game is Saturday, Oct. 27 at 4:30 p.m. against the Barons de Gatineau.
