The Pontiac Agricultural Board says they’re working hard to set up this year’s fair.
According to staff, they’re confident that the Shawville fair will take place, but are unsure of what exactly it will look like.
The board says they’re in talks with the Association des Expositions Agricole du Québec and the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions to see what other fairs are doing and what will work.
The board has been in talks with Santé Publique to make sure they’re working within all rules and regulations put in place by the government.
“Safety is of the paramount concern,” said Josey Bouchard, the director of communications for the agricultural board. “Every effort will be there to make sure the community can be safe.”
She says the team is hopeful that the fair will be able to bring some fun back into the community and that they will be able to celebrate together.
“We’ve been through the worst of it and we feel we owe it to the community to give them something,” said Bouchard.
“It’ll be the best fair you’ve seen in the last two years,” she joked.
