Jennifer Gauthier, also known as The Bay Baker, sold all her pumpkin and apple pies, many of which were pre-orders, at the Marché Bristol Market’s Thanksgiving pop-up on Saturday at Coronation Hall.
Gauthier, one of about 10 vendors at Saturday’s pop-up, is also the treasurer of the market, which brings an eclectic mix of vendors to the Norway Bay beach on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. She said this season has been the market’s best yet since she began volunteering with the group four years ago.
The Bristol Market is a registered non-profit and all the funds raised by renting out tables go towards running events in the community.
“We hosted a few events this year, like Kids Day, and that was so busy,” Gauthier said. “We had a magician walking around doing magic, music and a blow-up castle.”
The money raised from the markets enables the organizers to offer events like the Kids Day free of charge. The group also donates to the community, including $400 that was raised for the Bristol Fire Department.
“We’re not trying to make money off this, we’re trying to grow our market for our community and for the vendors,” Gauthier said.
