ESTHER COLPITTS
I was given an Amaryllis for Christmas. Within a couple of days I put the bulb into the soil they provided, watered it slightly, daily, as they said and waited. Nothing happened.
Weeks went by, still nothing. Finally . . .
end of February, I thought, I’m going to put lots of water on this thing. It can’t hurt. It’s doing nothing anyway. Sure enough it began to grow. Amazed, I watched it push upward almost two inches at a time. Today, end of March it is close to three feet tall and there are four beautiful flowers on it. Why am I surprised? It was made to do this.
It got me thinking. What are we made for? I was told a long time ago that we are made to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. When Jesus asked about paying taxes, He said that we should render unto Caesar what is Caesars and unto God what belongs to God. Something to think about.
