On the morning of July 2, scores of women from all over the region and beyond crowded the sidewalk at the entrance of Boutique Gwendoline in Shawville to purchase some of highest-quality garments at severely discounted prices and to say goodbye to the owner Katharine Hayes Summerfield who will be closing in the near future. With droves of people showing up as expected, only 15 people were allowed in the store at the same time in order to prevent it from getting overcrowded.
