Only a few months out from the annual Shawville Fair, the Pontiac Agricultural Society is putting on a dance this weekend to express its gratitude to the community that makes the fair possible every year.
“We are hosting a free dance to thank our community, exhibitors, volunteers, and everyone who supports the fair for the continuing years of support,” said the society’s general manager Mavis Hanna.
The Velocitys, a rock and country cover band from Ottawa, will be providing live music at the Shawville Agricultural Hall starting at 8 p.m.
Square dancers from the Shawville 4-H club will make an appearance, both on the dance floor and at the canteen where they will be selling snacks as a fundraiser for the club.
The theme of the evening is ‘Boots and Bandanas’, and the best themed outfit will win a prize.
“We hope that everyone will be able to attend,” Hanna said. “It’s just for the community to have a
good time.”
