A cyclist was hit by a car on Highway 148 and sent to hospital with minor injuries last week, Sûreté Québec spokesperson Sgt. Marc Tessier has confirmed.
He said police officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist on the highway in Bristol, near Campbell Road, at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.
He said the person driving the vehicle did not see the cyclist, who was traveling on the side of the road, due to the heavy rain that afternoon.
The mirror on the right side of the car hit the cyclist as it was passing him, and the cyclist ended up in the ditch next to the highway, Sgt. Tessier said.
The cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Sgt. Tessier said the driver of the vehicle was not injured.
