On Friday afternoon, the Centre intégré de Santé et de Services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO) recorded two more COVID-19 deaths in the region, bringing the death toll for the region to six.

The two deceased were residents of CHSLD Lionel-Émond in Gatineau, which is currently experiencing an outbreak. By Monday, the total death toll had risen to eight, though it’s unclear where the two additional deaths took place.

Another long term care facility in the region, CHSLD de la Petite-Nation in Saint-André-Avellin, is also experiencing an outbreak.

The other two deaths that the CISSSO has commented on took place at the designated COVID wing of the Hull Hospital.

As of Monday, the Outaouais has 128 active cases (down from 133 last week), made up of 347 total cases (up from 304 last week), with 210 recovered (up from 171 last week). There have been six hospitalizations, one of which is currently in intensive care. In addition, 64 CISSSO employees have been affected, up from 49 last week.

The Pontiac region, has had “five or less” confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic, but since the data has been made available for individual municipalities, the cases have only been recorded in the Municipality of Pontiac.

Up to date information on the region’s cases can be found here: https://cisss-outaouais.gouv.qc.ca/language/en/18907-2/

Across the province, there are a total of 38,469 confirmed cases with 1,838 hospitalizations and 3,013 deaths at press time.
