Christmas market grows bigger every year

The 8th Annual Christmas Market took over the Pine Lodge on Saturday, as 56 vendors packed the building and many, many more shoppers filled in the spaces between. Christmas shoppers were in their glory all Saturday, as they navigated the Pine Lodge in search of those perfect items from over 50 Pontiac vendors.
With tables lining all the walls, turning the building into a labyrinth of sorts, customers came in crowds to the 8th Annual Christmas Market, browsing a wide variety of items for every need.
Pine Lodge manager Jodi Thompson said the focus of the market is on featuring local, and lots of it. All 56 of the vendors were from the Pontiac, travelling in from all about to be a part of the day.

Right from the beginning, the parking lot was full as families filled the building. Most booths proved difficult to move past without jostling someone, as folks took in all there was to see.
Everything from handmade soaps and wooden crafts, to knitting, jewellery, art, ornaments, and much more could be found.
As well, a group of Pontiac High School students were put in charge of serving refreshments and running the 50/50 draw. Chris Heins, Daimon Laurin, Jarrett ‘Tubby’ Musgrove, and Dustin Young, all members of the juvenile boy’s basketball team, ran these responsibilities in support of their team.
The lads, amongst the early risers as they were setting up at 8 a.m., said the money raised would be helping to purchase the team their uniforms. As Thompson and her husband coach the boys, they were happy to have their players help out. She was quick to add that the team has won both their games played, as they start their season off right.
