Over the weekend, some 70 residents were evacuated from their homes in Mansfield-et-Pontefract, and on Monday, the neighbouring municipality of Fort-Coulonge declared a state of emergency. River levels are expected to stabilize and begin receding by mid-week.

Lac Coulonge water levels are expected to rise to 108.40 by Monday, but this could change depending on rainfall. The major flood level is set at 108.50 at that location, only a few notches higher than this weekend’s expected levels.
