AutonHomme Pontiac organized a free Christmas dinner for approximately 320 people on Dec.13. The dinner was prepared and delivered thanks to the contribution of the owner Mazhar Iqbal Dar “Tony” and employees of Langford’s Grocery store in Campbell’s Bay, the employees of AutonHomme Pontiac and a handful of volunteers.

AutonHomme Pontiac was created in 2009 and helps men in difficulty or who are in need of social rehabilitation. It is largely funded by various programs of the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services. In an interview with Tyler Ladouceur, executive director, he confirmed that AutonHomme Pontiac currently employs seven full-time staff to carry out its mission.

Whether it is to better manage their emotions, to get out of their addiction, to be better informed of their rights in the event of a separation; Pontiac men can count on the free services provided by AutonHomme Pontiac.

The organization also works in the area of suicide preventionand support for men, women and families who find themselves on the street or at risk of losing their lodging. Its staff also provide support and advice to help fathers preserve or strengthen their ties with their children.

In addition to the above, AutonHomme Pontiac offers temporary housing to help men get back on track. The supervision and support provided by the organization helps to limit the negative impacts of the crises that individuals in-need experience.

In mid-January, the organization will inaugurate its new premises located at rue 128 Front in Campbell’s Bay where they will be able to better serve its clientele and diversify its socio-community activities. This time of the year is often a rough period for a men who are alone or in the midst of a crisis. Anyone can contact AutonHomme Pontiac at 819-648-2309 for their support.
