ESTHER COLPITTS, Spiritual Growth

My granddaughter, Emily brought me a souvenir a number of years ago made up of pieces of broken glass. Amazingly, because of the way it is put together, it is quite lovely and suits the room it is in perfectly. Any time I have dropped a glass and it has broken on the floor, the result has been anything but beautiful, but the artisan who made this piece, broke the pieces specifically with an intention in mind that caused brokenness to become useful and worthwhile.

God says in His word that in all things He works for the good of those who love Him, Romans 8:28. I’ve seen Him take even the most terrible things in my life and use them for good.

In other words, shattered dreams, damaged lives, every kind of brokenness can be redeemed by the Lord, when we surrender ourselves to Him. Amazing. Beauty out of ugliness. An incredible hope.
