Dear Editor,

I wish the Conservative Party would choose a new leader. Poilievre is whiney and has a negative attitude about Canada. While I am quite satisfied with the current federal government, especially its handling of the U.S. administration’s threats to our sovereignty, I have seen in the past that federal governments can become stale in power, without a viable opposition from other parties.  

We need two or more parties to influence Parliament in a balanced way. Too much power, over too long a period, makes for government stagnation, as in the latter days of the Trudeau (the second) government. 

Canada, along with the rest of the civilized world, is facing an existential threat of tyrannical interference from the south. Our prime minister is currently the leader of western nations, because his government is standing up to the fascistic Turnip regime. We will do well to have a balanced power structure, upholding Canadian sovereignty.
