MRC Pontiac fires new economic director

MRC Pontiac warden Jane Toller confirmed Monday the MRC’s recently appointed economic development director Pierre Cadieux has been removed from his position, as first reported by CHIP FM earlier that day.
“I can confirm the employment relationship between Mr. Cadieux and the MRC has ended,” she said, noting the Council of Mayors was informed of the reasons for termination at the Apr. 17 council meeting where a resolution was passed in favour of his dismissal.
Warden Toller said there was no further comment on behalf of the MRC.
Cadieux was officially hired to the position just over a month earlier, on Mar. 13. He was the sixth person to step into the role since 2015.
