“Every kid’s a winner, they’re all going to win something,” said Jackie McBane, organizer of the baby competition held in Shawville on Saturday morning.

To be eligible to participate in the competition, babies had to meet three qualifications: be born between January 1, 2022 and August 12, 2023, live in either Shawville or Clarendon, and show up at the RA building in Shawville before 10 o’clock on Saturday morning.

The nine babies that met the criteria were assessed by three discerning judges for qualities in nine categories, with winners identified as follows:

  1. Youngest baby: Rhett Horner
  2. Friendliest: Raelyn Pape
  3. Most hair: Lily Greer
  4. Cutest giggle: Eleonor Crawford
  5. Baldest: Braxton Sheppard
  6. Biggest dimples: Sophia Younge
  7. Chubbiest cheeks: Liam Laframboise
  8. Cutest boy: Brayden Kelly
  9. Cutest girl: Millie Romain

MC of the event was Jennifer Davies, winner of the Shawville 100 baby competition in 1973. Brett Sheppard, winner of the Shawville 125 baby competition in 1997, was also in attendance.
