Hi, my name is Zainab Al-Mehdar. I’m a recent graduate from Algonquin College’s journalism program and I’m excited to get to be a part of the small but mighty team at The Equity. I plan to learn all I can about the  Pontiac and its rich history while serving the community.

One of the things I love about journalism is learning something new about people and places which I cover. With a community paper, I get to report on so many different issues and I am just grateful THE EQUITY has welcomed me. The community has been so generous with their time and I look forward to speaking to many more of you in the coming months.

Chances are you’ll run into me at the Pontiac Home Bakery because I’m a sucker for baked goods. Call or stop by the office to say hi and share story ideas with us.
