I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. I did. It was such a nice weekend weather wise. A lot of people were outside working on their lawns or playing games. I saw quite a few . . .

ATV’ers taking advantage of the great weather too.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Eric Pilon who celebrates on April 8, to Joe Morin and Sonny Quinn on April 10, to Chris Sauriol on April 11 and to Viola Hearty on April 12.

My son-in-law Carl who lives in Port Carling, Ont., sent me a video on the weekend of the frogs all singing their little songs. What was really strange is that the pond was surrounded by snow. I haven’t heard any around here yet but I haven’t heard them for a few years either.

My sister Norma, from B.C. sent me out a picture of 10 trout that she caught early that morning. She goes ice fishing nearly every second day. I remarked how great it was and then she fired me back a message which said “April fools.” That was a good one. I had a great laugh over that. I didn’t pull any pranks on anyone this year because I figured COVID is a big enough prank on all of us.

You should see the great work that Jerry Pepin is doing in his yard redoing his mother’s flower bed. What a fantastic son Shirley has. He just loves keeping busy and he’ll do anything for his mom. Great work Jerry it absolutely looks beautiful.

Well, the grass is actually starting to turn green now so it won’t be long before we have to get out the old lawnmowers and start doing yard work. It is a great time of the year right now to work outside because it is still cool enough and the bugs aren’t here yet. That will be our next complaint. We never like seeing the mosquitoes or black flies coming back but we all do like being outside.

I finally was able to get out to my clothesline and started doing the heavy duty spring cleaning. I just love hanging my sheets and blankets on the line and smelling that fresh air. Next thing I have to do is take down all the curtains and wash them to and start washing the walls and ceilings. Need help with that part though.

Our next big holiday or event I should say will be Mother’s Day. Hopefully a lot more of us will have our vaccines by then and that Mother’s Day will be a glorious sunny day so we can at least see our families outside. I’m so tired of this as most of us in the world is.

Be safe and have a great week.
