I made a mistake in last week’s column. I stated that Shirley Baudette had passed away.

Her name is Shirley Gaudette and her husband’s name was Allan Gaudette. My sincere apologies for the error.

Wow, what beautiful summer like weather we are experiencing. Several boaters are taking advantage of this lovely weather. Our annual pests, the black flies and mosquitoes are back. However, no one seems to be complaining since we are so happy to welcome the warmer weather.

We planted our flowers this past week and it is amazing how quickly our Impatiens are growing.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Joan Francis Turner (nee Bolger) of Edmonton, Alberta. She was the beloved wife of Andrew Turner. Joan and Andrew were former residents of Waltham. Joan was a kind, loving person and had a great sense of humour. She always enjoyed a good laugh. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with her husband Andrew, family and friends at this sad time.

A belated birthday wish is extended to Serge Beaubien, who celebrated his birthday on May 24.

Birthday wishes and love are extended to Larry’s brother Roger, of Pembroke, Ont. who is celebrating his birthday on May 30.

Happy birthday to Lindsay Harkins-Henderson, who is celebrating her birthday on June 1. Enjoy your special day Lindsay.
