Well, wasn’t that an interesting weekend? We ended up with about 18 inches of snow over night on Saturday. It was quite the sight the next morning.
To add insult to injury, the power went out about 5:30 a.m. and didn’t come back on until 2 p.m. Now that wouldn’t have really bothered me all that much except my daughter Shelley, her husband Carl and my two grandchildren Corben and Tao came up to visit and I had no way of making coffee or breakfast on Sunday.
I did have the woodstove downstairs but it’s not ideal for trying to cook a breakfast on because it’s round. We managed to heat water so we could have coffee and tea but then they went to Theresa’s for breakfast because they had power in Campbell’s Bay.
I called my cousin Steve. He said that they only got a couple of inches of snow in Luskville. When Carl drove home on Sunday to Bracebridge, Ont., they only had a couple of inches of snow and they’re in the snow belt. So we really got hit hard.
Shelley is spending the week and maybe two with me. We’re going to do some crafting and crocheting and try to get some visiting in.
It’s my aunt Betty’s birthday on April 2 so she asked for a lemon meringue pie and she wanted meat pie for supper so I’m bringing it up to her on Tuesday.
I’d like to wish the following people a very happy birthday: Jean-Pierre Landry on April 4, Debbie Sloan, Ricky Frost, Michael O’Brien, and Eric Belanger, all on April 5, Cletus Ferrigan on April 6, Marthe Drolet, Marielle Kluke on April 9.
I would also like to wish Tim and Joanne Frost a happy anniversary on April 5.
Also belated happy birthday wishes to Barney Holland who celebrated his birthday on March 29.
