Birthday greetings and best wishes go out to Erroll Downey, Glenn Magill and Andy McDonald on March 26, Janet Retty on March 27, Lynne Anne Storms and my son Scott on March 28, my nephew Shane VanderEyk on March 29 and to Henry Sallafranque and Robin Sullivan on March 31. Wishes to you all for a wonderful day.

Congratulations to Teagan Retty who was among the 25 academic recipients to receive the Dave Marshal leadership award at Nipissing University. Proud grandparents are Frank and Janet Retty of Sheenboro.

Congratulations go out to the Tierneys who won the annual Family Hockey Tournament held at the UPSC at Chapeau on the weekend. These tournaments are great fundraisers for the arena.

Just a reminder that the Lions Club of Chapeau will be having a pancake, beans and sausage breakfast on March 31 at Harrington Community Centre.

The Residence Meilleur for Seniors located at Chapeau, L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Quebec, is nearing completion. Five of the 12 apartments are now reserved for May 1. All new appliances were purchased for the apartments. We are now working on furnishing the common room. A sub committee headed by myself along with Joan Brennan McGuire, Judy Keon and my sister Donna, are working with a very slim budget to make this happen. Donations can be made on line through Canada Helps or contact any of the members to make a contribution to this worthy cause. Tax receipts are available. Also coming soon a giant 50/50 to help support this large project will be held at George’s Bar in Chichester at the end of April. For more info, check with George Picard.
