I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas and New Year’s.
On Christmas Day, Sharon Crawford and Bruce Hodgins and my cousin, Heather Boyd and my cousin Bob Mayhew from Oshawa, Ont. spent the day with me. We had a wonderful time playing cards. I enjoyed having them here and I had prepared a very special dressed Christmas turkey. I can’t tell you what I did but let’s just put it this way, when I took the turkey out of the oven it got its own photo shoot. It was totally funny.
I was busy before and during the holidays making meat and turkey pot pies. I visited with Aunt Betty and Gilbert in Otter Lake on boxing day and we celebrated Christmas again with her son Bobby.
Bob spent a couple of days with me visiting and we had a great time together playing cards and going out shopping.
On New Year’s I had Earl, Betty and Eddie Mayhew with me celebrating and bringing in the New Year with me. I also had my neighbours, Randy and Doug Sloan and Karen Stevenson dropped in New Year’s eve and also Jerry Pepin and Jennifer Donnelly. It was nice to have a gang here. We played a game of 31 and then we played a game of pass the Ace.
My sisters, Lynn and Norma called me from BC right at midnight to wish us a happy New Year but of course it was only 9 p.m. their time. So I set my alarm for 3 a.m. and phoned them back at their midnight and wished them a happy New Year.
I was kept very busy during the holidays which I’m really grateful for, but unfortunately I didn’t have my children here but we can’t have everything.
I would like to send out my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Gerard (Fouine) Dufour who passed away Dec. 30, 2018. He was without a doubt a very kind, decent and fun loving human being and he will be missed by everyone who ever knew him. I would especially like to offer my condolences to his grandchildren because he was the greatest grandfather ever to those kids.
