The hardcore bingo crowd turned out en masse Sunday afternoon, readying their vocal cords at the first opportunity to shout out the name of the game for the return of a favourite, annual event in Quyon.
With tables full and some bingo cards fuller, Royal Canadian Legion โ€“ Branch 231โ€™s Ham and Turkey Bingo saw a packed house as folks played for the chance to bring home the Christmas protein.

Running for decades in the community, the Quyon Legion has always had an excellent turnout and the fun remains a large part of the localsโ€™ holiday activities.
Acting as a huge fundraiser for the community group, the Legion has always found a large well of support for the event. Instead of cash prizes, winning cards are traded for hams or turkeys.
Calling the game that afternoon was Ivan Dolan, who returned to the role after a hiatus for a few years.
Also helping out in a variety of capacities were Quyon Lionettes Pat Lusk, Sylvie Lacoste, Anita Trudeau and Amber Prudโ€™homme. This was the second year the Lionettes had offered their services, as a thanks for the Legion helping out with the use of their clubhouse, as the new community centre remains under construction.
Up next for the Legion will be their annual New Yearโ€™s Eve party, complete with live entertainment, drinks, and plenty of opportunity for dancing.
