Members and supporters of the Bryson Revitalization group filled the greens of Mickey Creek Golf Club on Saturday, doing their part to chip in to fundraise for various projects in the municipality.
With 55 golfers across 14 teams, participants came from all over the Pontiac, as well as up from Gatineau to support Bryson.
“The golfing community is a good community to support each other,” said Joanne Ralston, a member of Bryson Revitalization committee.
Ralston said that not only had they had some golfers up from Gatineau, but they saw prizes donated from businesses that way, as well.
It was a close competition out on the course, with the first-place team winning by just one point, scoring 33. This team consisted of Doug Love, Mike Lemay, Pat Marion and Rolly Dagenais.

Closest to the pin prizes went to Brenda Presley and Johnny Lamothe, while the day’s longest drives belonged to September Hamilton and Mike Lemay.
Money raised from the tournament will benefit various projects that the Bryson Revitalization committee is pursuing in their home municipality. They seek to do this in a variety of fashions, from cleaning up monuments to beautifying their parks.
Currently, they are working to restore the location of a boat that has been on display near the waterfront for upwards of 10 years. The boat will be moved slightly more inland, and will gain a cement pad landing to be proudly displayed upon.
The committee works with their town council, as well as other local organizations like the Lions and Golden Age Club, to determine which projects need the most immediate work with the help of their funding.
“This coming winter we’ll decide which parks to embellish in town, and focus less on [organizing] activities,” said Ralston.
Having now organized their golf tournament and family day activities for four years, the group is excited to see their hard work transform into real projects completed around Bryson.
