Over the last 162 years, the Shawville Fair has become an institution, bringing together locals and drawing visitors from far and wide to celebrate the Pontiac’s agricultural roots and rural way of life.
From the famous truck and tractor pulls to the horticultural displays, from the horse shows to the musical entertainment, the Shawville Fair is a family-friendly event that shouldn’t be missed.
Young and old, animal, food or music-lover, the fair offers something for everyone and provides an opportunity to reconnect with where our food really comes from.
I would like to thank Stacey Howard and the entire Pontiac Agricultural Society Board of Directors for their tremendous commitment to making the fair a great success.
The fact that an event of this size is organized entirely by volunteers is a testament to the strength of our Pontiac agricultural community.
I’m proud to, once again, have a booth at the Fair and I look forward to chatting with many Pontiac constituents. See you there!

Hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Thousands of enthusiastic visitors. First class shows and displays. And unmatched local hospitality.
For 162 years, the Shawville Fair has, without interruption, been the signature event in the Pontiac, where we not only showcase our agricultural knowledge but also our region’s spirit.
Growing up in the region, the fair always meant fun activities and a day out with my family. But as the years pass, we all realize just how much the event speaks to the resilient and hard-working nature of Pontiacers.
As we grow older, we all witness the countless hours that Fair Board members and volunteers spend to ensure it all goes without a hitch.
And we all realize that above and beyond the major economic impact the Shawville Fair has, that it truly brings together our community and reminds us of the greatest asset this region has, our people.
So as we mark another great edition, make sure to thank a volunteer, they deserve it.
See you all at the Fair!
