Pontiac Ouest Fire Services held their golf tournament on Friday. Thanks again to all the prize donors and to Paul Martin who sold playing cards at face value to get in on the draw for these prizes.

He brought in about $1,600.00. The patio table set with four chairs was won by Donat Ranger and a beautiful patio cooler made of wood and stocked with all sorts of booze was won by my niece’s friend Dan, of Kitchener, Ont.
My sister Debbie Vandereyk got closest to the hole and Laurena Ranger the longest drive at Island Brae. It sure was a fun and lucky day for our family. Gilles Chartrand had the longest drive and louis Chartrand had the closest to the hole at Island Brae. The cooler was donated by a group of Chichester residents who are great supporters of fundraisers in our communities.The proceeds will be shared with Residence Meilleur and Pontiac Fire Services.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to go floating on the Black River. What a fun time. I couldn’t believe all the people that were out.
This past week Sheenboro had their summer student, Jessie Adam do a survey and present residents with a pamphlet on home composting. Garbage is a great burden on the taxpayers and composting is one way to reduce the garbage fees by 20 to 25 per cent. Let’s see if we can make it happen.
