Our sympathy to the family and friends of Edith Elliott who passed away last week. Edith will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
This past Saturday, we had our first flea market sale. It was very well attended and there were a lot of sales with people finding all kinds of treasures. This week we have to go out and fill the spaces. It was nice to meet and chat with people that we haven’t seen since last year.
This past Canada Day long weekend was a busy one here on Johnson’s Lake. I guess the cottagers enjoyed the hot weather for swimming and waterskiing. The Canada Day celebrations were well attended in various places despite the heat wave.
The strawberry season is still on as far as I know. Last Saturday people were still picking. I guess it would be best to pick early in the morning as soon as they open and be sure to wear a straw hat. Its the humidity that’s the worst. I have no energy at all and your clothes stick to you. Be sure to drink lots of water in this weather. Also don’t leave your pets in a hot car. We mostly leave our dog at home now.
This coming weekend, my sister Beulah will probably be spending it with us. She likes coming out to the flea market with me.
Happy birthday to Sandra Dagg who celebrates July 5 and also Joel Edge.
