Congratulations to Brandon MacKechnie and Meghan Morris who were married at Starborn Farms in Bristol on Saturday. It was an absolutely beautiful day for a beautiful couple. The celebration went on into the night with lots of fun on the dance floor and everyone had a fabulous time. We are wishing Brandon and Meghan all the best as they begin their journey as husband and wife.
William Armitage and Kara Hawkins also tied the knot on Saturday in a lovely ceremony at Shawville United Church, followed by cocktails at the farm and a reception at the Renfrew Armouries.
Saturday evening there was a stag and doe held in honour of Sam Clarke and Josh Massia at the Jack Graham Community Centre in Bristol. The evening was filled with drinks, music, games and prizes as Sam and Josh’s family and friends helped them celebrate their upcoming marriage.

On Sunday morning, the Quyon Pastoral Charge held their annual Sunday School picnic at the home of Lindsay Hamilton and Ryan Woermke. There was a fun and informal service held in the shade of the garage where the children were presented with books for an outstanding year of Sunday School, followed by a potluck barbecue and fun in the pool for young and old.
The congregation also took the opportunity to surprise Stacy Johnston with a money tree and good wishes, as she and Ricky Belland are getting married in July. It was a wonderful day with lots of fun in the sun.
On Sunday, a group of Quyon ladies headed off on a road trip to Nova Scotia. Mary-Sheila Keon, Dianne Muldoon, Janice Wallace, and Lynn Leach are visiting with Dianne’s brother Brian and Stan for the week and I am sure they are having a blast. Safe travels ladies.
The Pontiac Artists’ Studio Tour has wrapped up for another year. For the past two weekends, the doors have been open to the studios of many fabulous artists in our area. I hope they all have had a very successful year on the tour. A special shout-out to our artists in the village of Quyon, Cheryl Dolan and Shannon Purcell. We are so fortunate to have such talent in our community.
