Last week I had a nose bleed again and had to spend a day in the hospital to get it stopped. The doctor put in a packing and I had it in for two days. The doctor has reduced some of my medication. Maybe this will solve the problem.
We had our work bee day last Saturday at our lodge on Belmore Lake. I was not able to do any work because of an infection in my foot but it was nice to see the camp and some of the other members.
This coming Sunday is the funeral service for Shirley Routliffe at the Zion Lutheran Church in Schwartz, Que. at 10 a.m.
The Golden Age Club in Otter Lake had its end of the season last Tuesday evening. The awards were given out and a delicious potluck meal was served. We played the games of our choice after for the rest of the evening.
The Ladysmith R.A. didn’t have darts this past winter but the two years previous Marie Gauthier and I were regular players. Maybe they will start again next year. If not maybe Marie and I will join the Otter Lake’s R.A. dart games, so far we only belong to the Golden Age Club in Otter Lake.
Last Sunday, Tom and I went out for a nice dinner for Mother’s Day. I hope all you mothers had a very happy day.
This coming weekend is Victoria Day and we have a nice long holiday. Most of the cottagers will be opening their cottages for the summer. It will be nice to see them back. We have a lot here at Ladysmith, as we are surrounded by four fairly large lakes.
This weekend will also be busy for planting our flowers and doing some gardening. We noticed last Sunday that the garden centres were busy selling plants. My niece Shelley in Ranking, Ont. is having a plant sale and garage sale this weekend. A lot of people around there have already been coming to buy plants. She is very happy with the sales.
Happy birthday to Dorothy Wilson who celebrates today, to Irene Black on May 17, to Christopher Thrun on May 20, to Lysanne Broullette on May 22 and to Sandra Rutledge and Wilfred Murdock who both celebrate on May 22.
Happy anniversary to Sandra and Billy Dagg who celebrate on May 20.
