A three on three hockey tournament was held last week in Fort-Coulonge.
After a three-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organizers were excited to bring back the 10th edition.
Danick Boisvert, main coordinator of this year’s edition, was really . . .
pleased with the the army of 20 volunteers that made the tournament possible.
A total of 24 teams battled in four different categories (Open, A, B and a women class).
The event also had two DJs to entertain the visitors at night; DJ Martin Leguerrier on Friday night and DJ Paul Leblanc on Saturday night. The room upstairs of the arena was packed on both nights. Although the official numbers are not out yet, over 1000 people came out to the event this past week-end.
People were excited to attend the tournament which has become a must for hockey fans in the Pontiac. It was a blessing to see people from five to 90 years old enjoying themselves.
The winners of the tournament were: Danford Lakers in the Open Class, Boisvert Construction in the A Class, Napa Autopro in the B Class and Ottawa Valley Girls won the women’s catagory.
Organizers said that the event will come back next year for an 11th edition. All the profits generated through the event will go to the support the Centre des Draveurs Elite Century 21 renovation plans and ice rink equipment.
