This week we are continuing our dive into the Wyman Women’s Institute Cook Book, published on the occasion of the group’s 60th anniversary in 1973.

Sometimes, all it takes is a pot of baked beans to turn a dreary day into a cozy one. Best enjoyed with any number of  household classics like ham, scalloped potatoes and many more, this recipe for baked beans is sure to turn your frown upside-down. The person who owned this book before us appears to have slightly modified the recipe using maple syrup instead of molasses – try both and let us know which you prefer.

As always, if you recognize a recipe from either your grandparents’ kitchen or from your own, please write to us. We would love to hear about how these recipes have lived on. Or, if you have any recipes you would like to share with us, don’t hesitate to reach out.
