On Saturday afternoon, we attended a family reunion in memory of my maternal grandparents Christina Bonah and James Spence and of Victor Gagnon’s family. Family from near and far gathered at Finnigan’s Restaurant in Pembroke to honour them. It was so nice to see, chat and reminisce with family that we hadn’t seen in years. The families’ history and pictures were displayed, which brought back memories of many years. A tasty lunch and a beautiful cake were served.

Our heartfelt sympathy thoughts and prayers are with the Hayes family of Shawville in the recent passing of Thomas Bruce Hayes. He was the beloved husband of Darlene Rosebrook.
On Friday evening our family and several people from Waltham took in the Shawville Fair. It was wonderful to watch the horseshow, the displays and visit the petting zoo. I enjoyed my annual ride on the Ferris wheel.

Little Hailie Newman, daughter of Kaitlyn (Lair) and Tyler Newman celebrated her 3rd birthday on Sept. 1. Hailie, we sure hope that you had a fun day full of surprises.
