As I prepare my column for this week, I am looking out at the falling snow. The lawn is completely covered and the snow is falling. Roof tops and cars are now covered with an impressive white fluffy coat. The temperature is still relatively mild so I expect this first sign of winter will melt away only to be repeated with a more determined snowfall in the coming days. And so it must be that autumn yields to winter and the natural order is repeated. For all those motorists out there, don’t forget to change your summer tires to winter tires. In Quebec, the deadline is Dec. 15.
Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before you retire this coming Saturday night as we fall back one hour beginning Nov. 4.
Happy Halloween everyone.
