On Thursday, the Birthday Club met at the Waltham Station. Yours truly was the birthday girl this month. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and beautiful birthday cake. I feel so blessed to have such a loving and caring family and friends.
Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Sharon Gribbon and her family of St. Joseph, in the recent passing of her sister Patsy McCutcheron.
I am happy to report that the high waters on the Ottawa River have receded. There was some minor flooding but nothing compared to last year. We are very grateful for this.
Jodi, Mike, Alex, Mickaela and Benjamin were up from Embrun, Ont. on the weekend. They opened up their trailer and got it ready for the upcoming camping season. They are really looking forward to this.
On Sunday morning, several young children received the sacrament of Holy First Communion. They were: Abbie Rochon, Sophie Romain, Jessie Romain, Alex Henderson, Stella McGuire, Brooklyn Chartrand, Cassidy Turner, Layla Bowen, Max Fleury, Tyson Lepine, Brayden Fleury, Donovan Gagnon and Zach Laprette. It took place at St. Alphonsus Church in Chapeau. Fr. Tim Moyle administered the sacrament. Congratulations are extended to all.
Warm birthday wishes are extended to Danny Bechamp of Barrhaven, Ont. who celebrated his birthday on May 22 and to Lyne Bechamp who is celebrating her birthday today. We hope that you enjoyed your special day.
I hope that everyone enjoyed the first long weekend of the season.
