Greetings to a brand new year 2020, may it bring to all of you dear faithful readers many blessings of . . .

health, happiness, love peace, joy and prosperity.

Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Nora Smith and family, of Chapeau, Que. in the recent tragic passing of her dearly loved daughter Patricia.

Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the Fleury family of Chapeau in the recent passing of Ann Rigo (nee Fleury). She was the beloved wife of Andy.

Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the Meilleur family in the recent passing of Eunice Meilleur (nee Gray) She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Meilleur. Many years ago Eunice, a registered nurse, assisted the late Dr. Harold Keon at the Chapeau Hospital and clinic.

Waltham residents were saddened to hear of the recent passing of William (Bill) Lorne Murdock. He was the beloved husband of the late Madeleine Murdock. Bill and Madeleine lived in Waltham for some time. Bill was a smart and talented man whose blindness never hindered his accomplishments. He was active in politics, a gifted violinist and a skilled craftsman in his younger years. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.

Jeannette Gagnon rang in the New Year by celebrating her birthday on Jan. 1.

Jacques Pilon and Derek Grieve celebrated their birthdays on Jan. 2.

Tiffany Rivet celebrated her birthday on Jan. 3. We hope that each of you enjoyed your special day.

Warm birthday wishes are extended to Rex Rehel who is celebrating his birthday on Jan. 14. All the best of health and happiness is wished to you in the coming year Rex.

A cheery hello to all of those who are suffering from the flu, colds and to the shut-ins.

Well, the Christmas holidays are over, the decorations and lights are being taken down and stored away in bins and bags where they will reside in dusty corners until next year. As every day life resets its rhythm of familiar events, the children in the Pontiac headed back to school on Tuesday. We hope that they enjoyed themselves and are well rested to tackle another semester.
