On Thursday, the Birthday Club met at the Waltham Station for lunch. Greta Masseau was the birthday girl this month. We enjoyed socializing, a tasty lunch and birthday cake.

On Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening CDE Dance Academy held its dance recital at Festival Hall in Pembroke, Ont. The dance routines were amazing. The little nursery students stole the show. Congratulations to all the dancers for all your hard work. Hats off to the teachers for their dedication and endless hours of teaching. Thank you to the parents and grandparents for their support in helping these young people pursue their talents.
Waltham residents were saddened to hear of the passing of a long time resident, Rita Harkins (nee Chaput). She was the beloved husband of the late James (Bunny) Harkins. Rita loved to play cards and to sing along at a party. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time.
I sure hope that all fathers had a wonderful Father’s Day and enjoyed some rest and relaxation time. At our Sunday mass, Fr. Justin Bertrand gave them a special blessing. Susan Ethier paid tribute to them and read a poem. They were each presented with a carnation. Afterwards, we treated Larry, Mark and Mike to a tasty brunch.
