We finally had a beautiful weekend and I was able to get my garden tilled and the front yard is starting to take shape.
Now I have to plant the garden this week and hopefully sit back and watch it grow. Its too bad it wouldn’t just grow and not grow any weeds, then it would be really enjoyable.
No, I actually like working in the garden and puttering around. It keeps me out of trouble. What I really like about my own garden is the fresh vegetables which you cannot buy in any store.
My cousin, Betty Findlay Mayhew, went through a hip replacement a week and a half ago and she ended up with an infection and had to have another total hip replacement on Thursday. She is recovering nicely now and hopefully everything will be okay this time. Get well wishes go out your way Betty and hope you get home soon.
My neighbour Shirley Pepin had surgery and she is doing very well recovering at home. The physiotherapist is quite impressed with her progress and that’s great news. Shirley is really anxious to get better quickly so she can start running the roads again with her friend Marilyn.
The other day I went to Fort Coulonge because I had to go to the bank. On my way downtown I had to stop my car and let a mother goose go by with her babies and daddy was in tow at the end of the line. It was so cute to see and everyone stopped and patiently waited for them to cross the road.
I would like to send out birthday wishes to the following people: Sharon Kluke on June 14, Hunter Sloan and Barb Sparling on June 15, Mathiew Kelly on June 16, Colleen Larivière, Laurel Kluke on June 17 and Wendy Wicks on June 18.
On Monday I pulled rhubarb to make some rhubarb pudding and maybe a few jars of jam or preserves and put the rest away in the freezer. Hopefully it will soon be strawberry picking time and we will get some nice fresh strawberries.
