Animal Aide Pontiac appreciates everyone coming out to the tea and bake sale that was held on Friday at the Masonic Lodge in Shawville. We made over $1,000 to help spay and neuter animals in the Pontiac.
I would like to thank everyone who came out to the craft and bake sale on Saturday at the Lions Club hall.
I had a great Mother’s Day. I was going to go to the Lions Club breakfast but my girlfriend Sharon Crawford called and asked me to go to breakfast with her and Bruce at her nephew, Reid Crawford’s place at Lawless Lake. We were joined there by Jim and Darlene Crawford and Reid made us a wonderful breakfast.
Then I went to see my aunt Betty Mayhew in Otter Lake and I took her out to supper at the new Rumours Restaurant. They gave us a beautiful candle flower as a little gift. Then I went home and crashed because I had a very busy couple of weeks baking for Animal Aide and for myself and I was totally exhausted.

The water levels are even higher than expected which could mean more devastation to people along the river. So many people have lost most of their homes and a lot of their possessions. It will take years to recuperate from all the damage done. But one thing is for certain with the help of all their friends and neighbours they will press on and become even stronger.
This coming weekend is the Victoria Day long weekend. It is a busy weekend for cottagers who are usually open up their camps and cottages this weekend. I’m hoping that my daughter and son-in-law and the kids make it up for a visit. They have been unable to make it for my birthday or Mother’s Day because Carl works for Bracebridge Hydro and they were under a state of emergency for the past month.
It is gardening time once again and people are getting busy preparing their ground for another summer of planting. I don’t think I will be able to do it this summer because my back is just too full of arthritis. If anybody would like to use my garden you are more than welcome to have it. Just give me a shout.
