To help celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend there will be three special events. A Mother’s Day tea and luncheon put on by Animal Aide Pontiac is being held at the Masonic Lodge in Shawville on May 10. See the ad in the classifieds this week for more information.

Then on Saturday there will be a special Shop for Mom, spring craft and bake sale held at the Pontiac Lions Club in Campbell’s Bay from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Finally on Sunday, there will be a Mother’s Day breakfast served from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lions Club Hall in Campbell’s Bay. Please help support the Lions Club and come out and enjoy a wonderful breakfast.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all the mothers a very happy Mother’s Day.

I was in Otter Lake this past weekend to bring a gift up to Gilbert Sparling for his birthday on May 4. While I was there I went to the new restaurant called Rumours. It actually isn’t a new restaurant. It just moved over to 354 Martineau (at the motel) from Johnstons Store. They are still getting set up and organized. They want to have their grand opening in a few weeks. So watch for signs and ads in THE EQUITY.

I would like to send out a belated happy birthday to Gilbert Sparling on May 4, Sharon Crawford on May 5, Amanda Hearty and Sarah Bertrand on May 6.

Happy birthday to Gerry Kluke May 8, to Maurice Morin, Carter Beauregard on May 9, to Falena Kensley, Hunter Beauregard, Jason Gravelle, Mathew Hearty all on May 10, to Denyse Mayhew May 11, to T.J. Vibert on May 13 and to Rachel Beausoleil and Chummer Frost on May 14.

I would like to send out happy anniversary wishes to Vicky and Jimmy Lepack on May 4, Chris and Kim Sauriol on May 5, Linda and Frank Frost on May 8, to Faye and Mike McGuire on May 10 and to Serena and Tim Ferrigan on May 11.

It’s so good to hear that the water is finally going down, so people can start doing a major cleanup and try to move back into their homes. There is going to be much need for volunteers now to help all these victims put their lives back together, so please help in any way you can.
