Deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Mahlon Frost who passed away Jan. 28 in Alliance, Alta. He was predeceased by his sister Marlene. He leaves behind his partner Linda and sons Shane and Mike.

I heard on the news Monday morning that we’re in for a wicked snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday with up to 40 cm of snow with heavy winds. So by the time you get this paper we’ll find out if they were right. If they were right I hope you are all okay and prepared for the storm.

On Feb. 10, my father, Arthur Boisvert, would have turned 100 years old. Dad passed away June 17, 1996 and my brother Leonard passed away Oct. 30, 1996. How time flies.

For those of you who did not attend the Murder Mystery in Campbell’s Bay on Feb. 9 at the RA Centre you sure missed a fantastic, fun evening. Billy T was the caterer and he did an amazing meal. As usual everything was on time and well organized.

The master of ceremonies was Terry Frost who started off the night by singing “Roses are red my love but not as sweet as you” to his wife Marianne. Turk never lets us down because he always comes out with something to make you laugh.

Sophie Ringrose played the part of Clara Granny Smith. Chris Kensley played the part of a standup comic who was really desperately trying to impress the talent scout. Wendy Wicks played the part of Katie Morgan who was the casino dealer and chorus line dancer who had great legs but lousy luck. Rodney Meilleur played the part of lucky Nick Lucopolus who was a handsome Greek billionaire and professional gambler. Kim Lesage played the part of Cookie Daniels and she was Nick’s vivacious sexy fiancé who also had great legs. She wasn’t a rocket scientist by any means but she knew what she wanted from life. Everyone loved her sexy French accent. Frankie Frost played the part of Tony Bonello, a tough no nonsense Italian casino manager. Debbie Frost was Brigette Damien who owns her own exclusive escort service. She carries around a little black book with all kinds of secrets. Dereck Senack played Dr. Julius Prescott, our world renowned plastic surgeon who has a lucrative private practice in Los Angeles where image is everything. He reminded me of Sherlock Holmes, a very serious character.

Not only were they all great at acting but they found the perfect costumes, hairstyles and hats to suit their characters. Loved all their accents too. They put on a great show and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.

Lorraine Hearty wrote the script from the play that was sent to them and did a fantastic rewrite. Lindsay Frost was the director and Megan Lunam helped direct the play with Lindsey. Joanne Hearty was the winner who guessed the murderer. Glenda Sloan won a beautiful carved plaque made by Kyle Bertrand.

There were several winners for door prizes and I will try and name them. Phyllis Sloan, Rachel Emmerson, Cindy McLeod, Cindy Smiley, Bonnie Beauregard, Chris Ross, James Howard, Shelley McNamara, Brittany Mallette, Carol Ann Williams, Leoni Gervais, and Charlene Lance.

The Pontiac Lions Club appreciates all the hard work of the members, the donation of prizes by all the businesses and the people coming out to support this event.

We would like to send out a speedy recovery to Brenda Frost who had the misfortune of breaking her wrist just after the murder mystery.

Happy birthday to my daughter Shelley Kluke Davidson on Feb. 15 and to my son-in-law Carl Davidson on Feb. 17.

I would also like to wish Christina Sloan happy birthday on Feb. 13, to Cory Dubeau, Shawn Lepine, Matthew Kluke on Feb. 14, Norma Gagnon, Mike McGuire Senior on Feb. 18 and to Lindsay Frost and Merrill Hearty on Feb. 19.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
