It seems like 2020 is starting off giving us storms every weekend. I woke up on Sunday morning to the most . . .
picturesque scene. The trees were covered in mounds of sticky white snow and the snow was so heavy that it dropped the branches almost to the ground. However beautiful it was, it was pure havoc on the roads. There were a lot of accidents on both sides of the river.
It’s been 11 years today since my Karl (with a “K”) left us. Everything around me reminds me of him and that’s sort of comforting in a way but it is also sad. It’s so strange how our emotions can be so conflictive.
I would like to wish the following people happy birthday Suzanne Pilon on Jan. 29, Donna Dagenais on Jan. 30, Timmy St. Jean on Feb. 1 and Chloe Desjardins on Jan. 3.
Valentine’s Day will be our next event. That weekend the Lions Club is holding their annual murder mystery at the R.A. Centre in Campbell’s Bay on Feb. 15. The doors open at five and tickets can be purchased from any Lions member. Please help support the Lions Club because they help support the community.
That same weekend on Feb. 15, Theresa and I are having a surprise 50th birthday party for Theresa’s son, Carl. He turns 50 on Feb. 17 and my daughter Shelley turns 45 on Feb. 15 so we always end up celebrating their birthdays the same day. This year Shelley wants it to be about Carl, not her. She wants it to be special for him. We are holding it at the Lions Club Hall in Campbell’s Bay on Borden Street. Carl’s friends, family and acquaintances are welcome to stop by to celebrate his 50th.
