A small shoot began to grow out of the stump of an apple tree I had cut down. It shot up quite quickly, then sadly, one day I found it lying in the grass. It had no root.
It made me think. Children start out hearing about God and faith from their parents and maybe Sunday school teachers and sometimes other relatives but unless they put down roots of their own, their faith will not grow. It may not even survive.
We who say we believe in the living God, need to show our faith, by trusting God through every storm, every single day. If we don’t live it, they will leave it. Words are not enough.
