Belated anniversary wishes go out to Roger and Theresa Samson on the occasion of their 47th wedding anniversary and to my sister Debbie and her husband Jack VanderEyk who also celebrated their 34th on Oct. 20.
Happy anniversary to my cousin Merle Smith and wife Carla of Sudbury who were married 48 years on Oct. 17.
Birthday greetings go out to Susan Campbell on Oct. 27, David Prentice on Oct. 28 and to Dorothy Tallon Soltys on Oct. 29.
On Oct. 16, a dinner was held at Spruceholme Inn in Fort Coulonge to welcome to the Pontiac a busload of American farmers, mainly from Vermont and New York. The key word for the evening was “local” with local food prepared by a local chef, local wine and beer, local entertainment and local levels of government attending. It made for a very impressive evening. David Gillespie of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes who spearheaded this project with the SADC is hoping that this will be the first of many Canamex (Canada American) tours.
Just a reminder there will be a Halloween dance in Sheenboro on Saturday evening. All proceeds are going to the Pontiac West Fire Services.
