The Parents’ Voice Shawville maintained a great playgroup for many years before covid. When covid hit, playgroup like so many other programs had to close down. Now, almost three years later, playgroup is back with a whole new group of moms and little ones!
Shawville Shenanigans is a playgroup for children aged 0-5 and their caregiver. It began as a way for . . .
children and caregivers to connect in a way that helps caregivers feel less isolated and enable children who are not in daycare to make social connections in preparation for school. It soon became a place for friends to reconnect outside their home.
This was a program that I participated with all three of my children and was absolutely grateful for. Each Friday, I knew I would have a chance to connect with other parents and have some time for adult conversations. It also became a place where my children got to play with friends and practice being with other people. I absolutely loved watching them make friends and play with new toys, it also helped me with my sanity. I am beyond excited to see this playgroup start back up and to hear of its success.
It takes place most Friday mornings in the basement of The New Hope Fellowship Church and all are welcome. What will you find when you arrive? A welcoming group of caregivers and their children ready to socialize and play. There are toys set out and chairs for adults to sit on. There is a small snack served halfway through the morning and it is free. Playgroup runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. You can find information about which days it runs on our Facebook page, The Parents’ Voice Shawville. If you would like more information on playgroup please reach out to us on our Facebook page and we will be happy to answer any questions.
