Our thoughts and prayers for the Leach family on the loss of Evelyn on Feb. 12 at the age of 84. She was the sister of Isabelle, Rosie and Leona.

Our sympathies to the Ryan family on the loss of Léopold on Feb. 13 at the age of 83. He was the husband of Fidelis. Leopold was the father of Trina (Dave), Troy (Michelle) and Walter (Christine).

Our deepest condolences to the Charette family on the loss of Robert on Feb. 13. Robert was the husband of Norma. He was the father of Leigh-Ann. He was the grandfather of Emma and Eva.

Shrove Tuesday was on Feb. 21. It is the day that immediately precedes Ash Wednesday. Shrove derived from Shrove refers to the confession of sins as a preparation for Lent.

Ash Wednesday is Feb. 22 which begins fasting, prayer and alms giving. Lent is the penitential period and liturgical season that leads into the celebration of the Easter Triduum.
