Many readers have asked if the Shawville Lions still published their calendar. Unfortunately, it is no longer being published.

I saw this New Years prayer and thought I would share: Dear Lord, please guide our families and ourselves in the New Year. Please bless us with good health. Please let us forget the anger we had in the previous year and move forward with healed hearts into a New Year filled with endless opportunities.

Our condolences to the Turgeon family on tbe loss of Adrien on Dec. 24, 2024 at the age of 98.

Our sympathies also are with the Poisson family on the loss of Ginette Poisson-Plante on Dec. 24, 2024 in Val D’Or at the age of 75. She was the niece of Sylvia Poisson-Hodgins.

Epiphany was on Mon. Jan. 6. It celebrates the three kings who each gave a gift to baby Jesus. The gifts were gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Bridge is resuming at 10 a.m. on Tues., Jan. 7 at St-Paul’s Anglican Church Hall. It is held every week, same time, same place. All are welcome.

The Pontiac Agricultural Society will be hosting its first Bingo of 2025 on Dec. 8 at 7:00 p.m..

Happy birthday across the miles to Stephanie Gregory who is celebrating her special day on Dec. 8.

The Municipality of Shawville is still distributing garbage cans to residents. The town will be distributing the new recycling bins sometime in 2025.
