Back to school starts this week.
Fun and excitement is in the air. As I am writing my column the Shawville Fair is being set up. It is always nice to see old friends and new come to our home town. So many rides, so many games, so many exhibits — always a treat. Have a great time everyone at this year’s fair.

Our deepest condolences to the Pasch, Vanclief and Zimmerling families on the loss of Lillian on Aug. 22. She was the wife of Tom Vanclief. Lillian was predeceased by her first husband Clarence Pasch. She is the sister of Wilfre, Beulah (late Maurice Grife) and Ronnie (Rosemary). Lillian was the aunt of Debbie (Sandy Hanson), Tania (James Cull) and Shelley (Emile Tavares). She was the great-aunt of Jonathan, Amanda, Harrison, Emily and Morrison. She was the stepmother of Susan, Katherine (Chris) and David.
Our sympathies to the Wallace family on the loss of Suzanne on Aug. 22 at the age of 77 years. She was the wife of James Wallace of 55 years. Suzanne was the mother of Kevin (Brenda), Scott and late Stephen. She was the grandmother of Alyson and Kaitlyn. Dear sister of Henry (Helen), Estelle (Bob Carson), Edith (Cliff Grant) and Roger.
Our thoughts and prayers for the Hodgins and Lance families on the loss of Goldaline on Aug. 23 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Lance in 1981, her son Lloyd in 2004 and an infant daughter Evaline Marie. She was the mother-in-law of Georgia. She was the sister of Jean Smith, Darlene Wiggins and Ethel Yach and predeceased by siblings Loreen, Mervin, Bernice, Cedric, Cecil, Faye and Brent.
