Congratulations to Morgan Kennedy and Ben Zimmerling, as they were married this past weekend in Colborne, ON. It was an intimate group of close family and friends that joined them for their special day, and I hear they had a wonderful time celebrating the happy couple. Wishing Morgan and Ben all the best.

Sympathies are extended to the family of Doreen Chabot, as she passed away on Sept. 27. Thoughts and prayers are also with the Dagenais family, as Gordon Dagenais passed away on Oct. 1. The community is holding their loved ones in our hearts at this sad time.

I enjoyed a magical day on Saturday as my friend Lindsay Hamilton and I took her little girl, Lainey, to Santa’s Village in Bracebridge, ON. It has been a place I have longed to visit, and it was a wonderful time to go as they were also celebrating Halloween at the theme park. Two of my favourite holidays combined into one fantastic day of entertainment! Lainey got to attend Elf School, we rode the Candy Cane Express, and of course she got to meet and chat with the big guy in red. She also got to trick-or-treat around the park, and we took a walk through the not-so-scary pumpkin trail. There were many fun rides, delicious treats, and lots of fun along the way. We really enjoyed our girls trip, and we were also treated to beautiful views of changing leaves in Algonquin Park on our drive. It was a fabulous little get-away.

Birthday wishes are going out to Layla Young on Oct. 10, and to Lindsay Hamilton and Beverley Stanley on the 12th. Happy 19th birthday to my nephew Caden Provost, as he celebrates on the 14th, as well as to Ben Duquette, Dale MacKechnie, and Mitchel Trudeau. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
