Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Basil Belland, as he passed away on Nov. 25. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this sad time.
Our community is thinking of Glenna Campbell, as she lost her home to a fire early Saturday morning. We will keep Glenna in our prayers as she gets back on her feet in the days and weeks to come.
The Pontiac Community Players will be at Quyon United Church on Friday evening at 7 p.m. to put on a performance of their live radio play, The Princess and the Goblin. A free will offering will be accepted, but not expected. Just come out and enjoy the show, and stay for coffee, tea and sweets afterwards.
The Quyon Legion is holding their Holiday Cheer Raffle, with the draw being held this coming Sat., Dec. 7. They will be hosting a kitchen party on Saturday as well, featuring Donald Foran, Cal Cummings, and Garry Cummings, and you can get your hands on some last minute Holiday Cheer Raffle tickets. The first place winner will take home a Ninja cooler filled with bottles of cheer, and second place will win balcony seating for 10 at an Ottawa 67’s game. All are welcome to join in the fun.
Belated birthday wishes are going out to Garrett Rusenstrom, as he turned 16 on Nov. 29. Happy birthday to Landyn Prest on Dec. 4, to Owen Johnston and Dustin Young on the 5th, and to Cash Watson and Bucky Fleck on the 6th. We also have birthday wishes going out to Tessa Romain and Willow Brownlee, both celebrating on the 7th.
Santa Claus is coming to town. This coming Sat., Dec. 7, the Quyon Lions Club will be hosting the Parade of Lights at 6 p.m. The parade will leave Onslow School, turn down St. John Street, and end at the Community Centre. Children are invited to come and meet with Santa after the parade, where hot dogs and hot chocolate will also be served. It will be an exciting evening filled with Christmas spirit.
