Deepest sympathies to the family of Fred Mohr, as he passed away on Nov. 14 at the age of 74. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Linda, children Rebecca and Chuck, sister Shirley-Mae Davis, his grandchildren, and all who loved him. He will be sadly missed by many.
Birthday wishes are going out to Dakota Hudson and Sue McKay, both celebrating on Nov. 21. Happy birthday to Holly Hamilton on the 23rd, to Shannon Johnston-McCann on the 24th, and to Bob Young on the 25th. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
We were sorry to hear the sad news last week that the Quyon Lionettes have disbanded after 41 years of service to the community. We salute the members, past and present, for all they have done for our community over the years. So many women have proudly served, and there are so many events that come to mind, bringing fond memories. The Quyon Lionettes will be missed.
We have reached the time of year when Christmas events are starting to fill up the calendar. As I mentioned last week, the Quyon Pastoral Charge will be hosting a Christmas House Tour on Dec. 2. If anyone needs more information or tickets, please just let me know.
Quyon United Church is also excited to be hosting the Pontiac Community Players on Dec. 6, as they will be performing their live radio play “The Princess and the Goblin”. A free will offering will be accepted, but not expected. Just come out and enjoy the show. Coffee and sweets will be served afterwards.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Sat., Dec. 7, as that is the date that Santa Claus will be coming to town. The Quyon Lions Club will be holding the annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights at 6 p.m. More details to come. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
